This page is now outdated. All sims are published to WarcraftPriests.Github.io.

Hello everyone and welcome to the Trinket Analysis for 8.1.0. For the sims posted here, everything is simmed at ilvls relevant to those trinkets. Generally speaking, this means that we sim at the base for what that trinket drops, then 5 ilvl increments up to 400ilvl. To see the full list of sim requirements as a baseline check out the GitHub repo. The basics are that we ran every trinket with the top simming talent builds for Legacy of the Void and Dark Ascension. In addition, we are publishing data for both composite and single target rankings, as things shift slightly depending on those scenarios. To learn more about composite sims check out the post I made here.

Now that the basics are out of the way here are the results!

Trinket Rankings

Dark Ascension - Composite

Dark Ascension - Single Target

Dark Ascension - DungeonSlice

Legacy of the Void - Composite

Legacy of the Void - Single Target

Legacy of the Void - DungeonSlice

Important Notes

  • All dungeon chart data is based off the WIP/Beta dungeon fight profile from HeroDamage
  • Any reference to Doom's Hatred is the horde equivalent of Lion's Grace for the Alliance.
  • The charts posted above are updated from Djriff's trinket sheet which automatically updates from the data posted in the GitHub repo.
  • Raw data is published in a WIP prelim state to the GitHub repo. To get the most up to date data you can view that here (not as easy to look at)
  • Big thanks for Seriallos from Raidbots with helping us get these sims done and published much quicker than previous expansions!

Fixed an issue where Darkmoon Deck: Squalls was dealing less damage than intended. Its effective damage has been increased by approximately 300%. (August 20)

How does this change the lists above?

Semicolondash · August 21, 2018 at 10:22 am

Hey Saturas, this has been updated and is reflected in the above lists. As noted, the charts automatically update when Publik runs new sims. We will try to do a better job to mark changes so you guys know when things like this are up-to-date as well.

Hello guys, sorry for my bad english. Can you explain me why for example the Trinket drops like Galewind chimes is simmed with an 340 itemlevel. As i can see on wowhead this Trinket is a Drop from a Rare and drops with an itemlevel of 280? Its hard to recognize how powerfull this trinket on this Itemlevel is. thanks in advice

Djriff · August 23, 2018 at 9:56 pm

Hi Kosa,

Firstly your english is fine 😀

Secondly, Every so often a World Quest will have an objective to kill a target, usually that target is a rare. You’ll be awarded the item it drops at X ilvl (usually 325+) and will be able to loot it’s corpse for the 280 version as well.

As an aside, it’s a nice bonus because it’s more scrap for the scrap god.

Are you 100% sure squalls is accurate on this chart, even after the second buff that fixed how it worked with haste and crit? Im not saying its good, but i cant believe its the 32nd best trinket overall.

Hobo · August 28, 2018 at 11:31 am

Was Squalls re-simmed after the 24th hotfixes that made it scale with crit/haste?

arokace · September 2, 2018 at 12:31 am

I don’t know if you guys will get mad at this but figured I’d comment this here since it doesn’t seem like any of these rankings get updated. So for anyone looking for up-to-date on hotfixes and shit make sure you also check out BloodMallet for trinkets, traits, and specific Azerite pieces on what is ranking higher/lower. Make sure to use both sites though to get the most informed decision, saying you’re doing it by yourself and have no one to throw ideas and thoughts at.

https://bloodmallet.com/index.html#priest_shadow?data_view=trinkets&tier=3&fight_style=patchwerk&lang=EN

And my main reason for suggesting bloodmallet was because in the azerite shoulder section my shoulders weren’t even listed on this site when I thought they should be and on bloodmallet they’re number 1 for shadow. Sandspinner Mantle.

And please don’t take what I am saying as an insult or anything, I am just trying to help the community. I appreciate everything that every does to run this site. H2P and now Warcraft Priests, has always been a massive help for the priest community.

Couple things, squalls is 100% accurate. It looks a bit misleading on the chart because it only drops at 355 ilvl, so it does not scale. It still makes it a competitive trinket though. Everything remains up to date here at all times.

@arokace while bloodmallet can be a good resource, he doesn’t sim using Uldir Composite, so his numbers just don’t make sense for shadow priests. I understand the frustration of not having every azerite piece simmed here in our charts (we only include dungeon/raid gear). The reason we did that was because starting this week with the launch of mythic+ and raiding, the WQ azerite pieces won’t be a consideration anymore unless you get insane titanforges. For that reason we chose to omit them from our sims.

Ah, ok, that makes sense then. Ty for the response.
